🏥 Health Insurance Enrollment Assistance
The district’s Medi-Cal team has been dedicated to supporting families for more than two decades. The team's primary focus is ensuring students maintain continuous health insurance coverage so students can maintain consistent attendance at school. Each year, the team guides roughly 2,000 new students through the process of enrolling in new coverage or managing changes to existing plans.

🌎 Immigrant Family Guidance
IMMIGRANT FAMILY GUIDANCE (new changes)
Children (ages 0–18) can receive full Medi-Cal coverage regardless of immigration status. Undocumented minors are eligible, but they must still meet other requirements, including income limits, to qualify for Medi-Cal. For assistance, please contact one of the Health Services Case Workers.
Starting Jan 1, 2026: Certain non-citizens (e.g., those with approved I-130 petitions, lawful permanent residents, asylees, battered non-citizens meeting waiting periods, DACA recipients, etc.) can apply for full-scope Medi-Cal with full dental coverage.
Starting July 1, 2027: These same categories will still get full-scope Medi-Cal, but only emergency dental benefits.
Note: Medi-Cal enrollment is open year-round.
