Peace Patrol is a peer-based program that reinforces a safe and positive recess experience for students at PBE.
Individual Peace Patrol members are assigned on a rotating basis to four locations on the playground. Their role is to remind students about both safety rules and school rules. Members also lend assistance to students in need.
A supervising staff member is always close by.
Fourth and fifth grade volunteer students are selected for Peace Patrol via an application process and teacher approval.
Peace Patrol members receive training on their responsibilities, including communication skills, monitoring students in their assigned areas, specific rules that apply and the importance of punctuality, a good attitude and work ethic.
We have 60 enthusiatic members of Peace Patrol who will all contribute to a safe and positive school culture.
